One of the biggest misnomers in the English language which I take exception to in the strongest terms.
Why do “they” refer to Migraine as a headache. I have head pain. Searing, biting, nausea inducing pain on the right side of my head, just above and over the eye. It feels like how it must feel like someone has rammed a red hot poker into my skull and are gyrating it back and forth.
I would do anything for an “ache” at this moment.. I really would.

love the new site!
I honestly thought that there was a cure for migranies (or at least some pills strong enough to work)…but by ur posts I see that there is no relief.

Sue, I will join you in this. ‘Just a headache’ ‘bit of a migraine’ I HATE people who havent had the experiance waving it away like its ‘only’ an extra bad headache! When I get mine ‘touch wood I havent for a while’ I loose vision in my left eye..I see jaggy lines, along with the drilling poker in the eye and all the other horribleness! Any migraine sufferer should get a medal! And I havent found anything that works well yet. I found some homeopathic pills which I will try next time.

Angel,
Welcome and thank you for you compliment, and your concern
..
I do have a prescription medication that I take when I first feel a migraine coming on and sometimes I judge it right and it sort of wards it off and sometimes they work just fine.
Othertimes, they hit me out of the blue and it seems like nothing will help. I am trying all the routes open to me by my Doctor and she is going to try something else if these latest tablets don\’t work…

Clare,
I am currently using Zomig on prescription- and as I said to Angel above, it sometimes works a miracle if I get in there early enough, but sometimes seems to miss the mark completely..
You obviously “know” the feeling well… I went back to bed this morning, and, withthe benefit of my trusty hot water bottle -yes, a hottie on a night like last night, and the rub of “4Head” stick, I got back to sleep. The pain is more managable today.. this is on and off for 5 days..grr

Oh, no. It’s back. But you just got over one. Does a nice neck rub help? Or you just want to be left alone?

Yes, a neck rub generally helps - but sometimes it is just tooo painful. Sometimes all I want is to crawl into a dark room and lie there, motionless..
Though I am feeling much better this afternoon thanks Rosie!

Tried a chiropracter? The spine is connected to the brain. Who knows…it might help. Sorry to hear you are in so much pain, Sue.
