Our Son has passed his driving test….yay.

Admittedly, this was his fourth attempt but he has actually passed today.

Hubby has been patiently taking him out each day over the last two weeks, practicing the manoeuvres etc, and it has paid off. I am so pleased. I do not know how his self esteem would have handled a fourth failure. But I am sure this will make him a better driver. he has always been a boy that has “winged” his way through things, doing the minimum amount of work required to achieve a grade that is just enough to get by with. It was a bit of a shock to his system when he failed the first time…and then the second…and, when he failed the third time…. he was gutted!! But he has got there now.

Our life will be so much easier now as, up until today, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings are taken up with just taking and collecting him from an evening class and his Air Cadet Evenings, notwithstanding any social events that pop up… and with hubby doing more and more driving jobs, it has taken a bit of military planning to fit in both teens activities. Now at least he will be able to drive himself and, take his sister when required.

He is planning to do this tonight. Daughter is going to a party - her friend’s sixteenth birthday party and son has volunteered to collect her.

So now I start worrying. I should be relieved of the burden, not burdened by worry.

He will be fine… and me, what is a few more grey hairs!!!

Wonderful news. But some worrying will be involved until they are both home and safe.
