Why God Made Moms

source unknown - I found this HERE

Brilliant answers given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions!!

Why did God make mothers?

1. She’s the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?

1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers, and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of?

1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men’s bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other Mom?

1. We’re related.
2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people’s Moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your Mom?

1. My Mom has always been my Mom and none of that other stuff.
2. I don’t know because I wasn’t there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice.

What did Mom need to know about Dad before she married him?

1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your Mom marry your Dad?

1. My Dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My grandma says that Mom didn’t have her thinking cap on.

Who’s the boss at your house?

1. Mom doesn’t want to be boss, but she has to because Dad’s such a goof ball.
2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than Dad.

What’s the difference between Moms and Dads?

1. Moms work at work and work at home, and Dads just go to work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller and stronger, but Moms have all the real power ’cause that’s who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend’s.
4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.

What does your Mom do in her spare time?

1. Mothers don’t do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your Mom perfect?

1. On the inside she’s already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2. Diet. You know, her hair. I’d diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your Mom, what would it be?

1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I’d get rid of that.
2. I’d make my Mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head

I think our little darlings would agree with a few of these!

Playing Tag

Sunday, November 19th, 2006

Clare tagged me…..

Each player of this game starts with the “6 weird things about you”. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says “you are tagged” in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

Actually this is hard because how do you define “weird” - my teens call me weird all the time!!!

OK taking weird as meaning odd or unusual, here we go…

1. I am always cold whilst the rest of the family are hot - (actually I am hypothyroid!)

2. I like ice in brandy..

3. I used to read the dictonary for pleasure…

4. I love having my feet tickled - Hubby thinks I am weird because of this anyway.

5. I like jam and marmite on toast - yes - together.

6. I collect the little sachets of sugar that they give you in coffee shops and restaurants with your tea or coffee.

Sorry - I am not really that weird am I? Fairly normal I would say…

Now, who to tag

I have started, can you finish?

Saturday, June 17th, 2006

Here is a snippit of some words that have been hovering around my brain for a day or two…. Son came bounding in on me and I lost the rest.. don’t you find that if you don’t get it all down at the time, those words can dissappear into the mist of oblivion and not come back?  I do, anyway..  I have a vague idea where I was going - it would beinteresting to see if anyone else thinks like me - actually I would feel most perplexed if there was anyone else in this world who thinks like me!!!
So, anyone fancy finishing it for me?

What would you say
If you could speak My beautiful one?

Your face has seen so many things.

Would you speak of ancient riches, seen by you?
Would you mention the sparkling treasures surrounding you?
Would you whisper the magic spells of intoxication that emanate from you?

Angel posted a picture of her feet on her blog a day or two ago… I thought her’s were very neat and dainty.
I found out that my UK four and a half translates to USA sizes as a six and a half .

A Fishy Story

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

I used to read my “stars” all the time when I was younger. I don’t really do this anymore but, with my Birthday looming at the weekend, I thought I would share this with you.

I have always thought though, that it is ironic that I am a “fish” when I can hardly swim two strokes without going glug, glug, HELP! and I am scared of the water…

Oh, and another thing. I am two fish swimming along in opposite ways and Ed is a water carrier. Hmmm. Interesting!!!!!!

Pisces
February 19 - March 20

Pisces is the twelfth Sign of the Zodiac, and it is also the final Sign in the Zodiacal cycle. Hence, this Sign brings together many of the characteristics of the eleven Signs that have come before it. Pisceans, however, are happiest keeping many of these qualities under wraps. These folks are selfless, spiritual and very focused on their inner journey. They also place great weight on what they are feeling. Yes, feelings define Pisceans, and it’s not uncommon for them to feel their own burdens (and joys) as well as those of others. The intuition of the Pisces-born is highly-evolved. Many people associate Pisceans with dreams and secrets, and it’s a fair association, since those born under this Sign feel comfortable in an illusory world.

It’s a pair of Fish that represents Pisceans, a symbol which prompts others to suggest that these people ‘go with the flow’ and ‘don’t make waves.’ Both of these labels are true, since Pisceans are fluid and easy-going, in keeping with the Mutable Quality assigned to this Sign. The fact that two fish (as opposed to one) represent the members of this Sign also speaks to the duality of Pisceans, their yin and yang sensibility. Pisceans alternate between reality and non-reality in keeping with their introspective natures; their voyage between consciousness and an unconscious dream state says much about their intuitive, almost psychic natures. For this reason, Pisceans can be hard to pin down, prompting some to call them the chameleons of the Zodiac. The Fish are happy to be considered hazy, since there’s a certain sense of safety in that self-proclaimed netherworld. That said, they won’t stay away for long, since one of their primary goals is to help others. Pisceans are compassionate, charitable and will quickly put the needs of others ahead of their own. It’s this kind of self-sacrifice which keeps these folks going. The flip side to their giving natures is that oft-timid Fish are likely to be taken advantage of by less well-meaning souls.

In love, you give everything you have to relationships. You fall in love easily.

At work, you crave personal expression and meaning in your career.

As far as your looks go, you’ve likely taken the time to develop your own personal style.

On weekends, you like to be with others. Charity work is also a favorite pastime of yours.

Who would paint Your portrait

Thursday, March 2nd, 2006

I did this fun quiz the other day and it got me thinking - or fantasizing more like!!

Who Should Paint You: Gustav Klimt

Sensual and gorgeous, you would inspire an enchanting portrait..
With just enough classic appeal to be hung in any museum!

And funnily enough, I love the work of Gustav Klimt.

I could imagine me reclining on my bed like this!

I have always said though, that I would be more fitted to be a model for Pierre August Renoir, living in the heart of Paris in the early nineteen hundreds..

Just like this…

or even, like this……………

I don’t know if I could ever pose nude in real life but well, a girl can dream can’t they………………….
